Raging stepdad chops off boy’s hand with meat cleaver and throws it in boiling water so it can’t be reattached
A stepdad CUT OFF a nine-year-old boy’s hand with a meat cleaver and threw it in boiling water so it could not be reattached.
Cheng Sun, 43, had met the boy’s mum Xiao Shen just over a year ago and the couple had been looking at buying a flat together.
Cheng and the boy Xiao Jun moved in together in a rented apartment while searching for a family home in Shenyang, in Liaoning province, east China.
Meanwhile the boy’s mother was visiting her parents and other relatives to try to borrow the rest of the money they needed.
When she phoned Cheng to say there’d been a delay it sparked a furious row – after which he took out his rage on the boy.
He beat him with a stick then grabbed a meat cleaver and chopped off his hand before throwing it into a pot of water that had been heating to cook a meal.
Another resident in the rented apartment block said: “I heard the boy saying ‘Dad, please don’t, dad, please don’t.
“Even though I then had the boy screaming I really didn’t expect it would have been so terrible.”
The stepdad called police to confess what he had done and they took the boy and the cooked hand to hospital where doctors said that it had already swelled up and was no longer usable.
It means that the boy will not be able to have a hand reattached and he will now need an artificial arm.
Cheng has been arrested and is facing a lengthy jail term and has also lost his job as a crane driver meaning that the boy and his mother will no longer have his income, and Xiao Shen is apparently six months pregnant with his twins.
The boy told police: “I always thought he would really be a good dad to me, I liked him. Now everything is ruined.
“I don’t know why he did this, he just seemed to become someone else.”
