Family Guy death: Brian Griffin fans disappointed as nothing happens after countdown ends on briansannouncement.com
Family Guy’s Brian Griffin – the talking dog for those unfamiliar with the show – has been killed off in the hit US series.
As as result a fan backlash has resulted in an online petition to bring him back, with support from over 80,000 Family Guy viewers.
However, those who are a massive fan of baby Stewie Griffin’s companion thought they were in luck as an announcement was due to arrive early Wednesday (November 27) afternoon on briansannouncement.com.
The site simply reads: ‘a special announcement from Brian’ above the words ‘a Fox Production’.
In regards to a potential spin-off, Hollywoodlife.com claimed that Fox knew nothing of this site and it was all a big hoax.
So there we were STILL watching the countdown after finding out it was a hoax, waiting for something to happen. And it just counted down to 0.
Another upset for Family Guy fans who have once again taken to Twitter to voice their opinion.
One tweeted: “…If you’re going to do a fake countdown at least countdown to something!”
Another said: “haha, i bet our bank accounts are being swiped as we are sat here refreshing”
Another Twitter user takes it one step further, and says: “is brian’s ‘announcement’ nothing because he’s dead. im confused. Maybe this what they call a right good trollage”
