A port of call for a U.S. Navy frigate led to an inappropriate booty call for its commanding officer.

Cmdr. Luis Alva, skipper of the USS Vandegrift, was given the heave-ho Wednesday after he allegedly grabbed the buttocks of the spouse of a chief petty officer at a Panama bar, Navy Times reported.

“Cmdr. Luis Alva, was relieved of his duties as commanding officer Wednesday by the commodore of Destroyer Squadron 23, Capt. Paul Hogue, due to loss of confidence in his ability to command,” Naval Surface Forces Pacific said in a release.

The Vandegrift, a guided-missile frigate deployed to South and Central America since May on a drug interdiction mission, was in port Monday at Panama City, Panama when the reported sexual assault happened.

NCIS is investigating.

It was one of two incidents reported. The second detailed a shoving match.

“Over the course of the evening the commanding officer became intoxicated, and at some point he is alleged to have assaulted the victim by shoving/pushing in the face,” the Navy said.

Alva, 41, is a 1996 Naval Academy graduate. He’s the second commanding officer of the Vandergrift to be fired for misconduct since 2012, Navy Times reported.
